Me in my college riding days…
…and at a horse show as a child (sorry the pic is kinda blurry)!
Today’s Workout: Sorry to disappoint, other than doing very few squats just to try and get a feel for how my knee was, the only thing that was worked out was my brain!
It was another 13-hour workday for me today, with minimum breaks, other than running out to get Petco to buy dog food right after work, and a couple food breaks. I’m trying to eat healthier, but when we were on our way to Petco, JP saw the Arby’s sign in the near distance and immediately made a U-Turn to go get some. That man makes me laugh, although he’s not always a good influence on my waistline (especially not lately, since I haven’t been working out!). Continue reading
This week’s whiny blogs are interrupted by my first runner profile. Meet Heather @ Girl Goes Running. I can’t remember who found who first, but after I first started reading Heather’s blog, I couldn’t stop. This girl is a huge inspiration to me. She’s completed the Boston Marathon, as well as a number of other marathons. That’s very cool in itself, but what sets her apart from other runner bloggers is her total commitment to running. This girl really does go running! Through snow, rain, sleet, and subzero temps (well, pretty close to it), Heather goes running. If you’re not familiar with her blog, read on to learn a little more about her…and then, go check out her blog! Continue reading
Sunday, I’m supposed to be running the Celtic 5-k in Worcester, MA. My leg is feeling better…but my immune system is not. Ever since I returned from Pennsylvania, I’ve been feeling exhausted and well, stressed. And my immune system has really taken a beating from it.
First, I had a cold. Then, Thursday night, I woke up in the middle of the night and suffered from food poisoning after going to dinner with my mom. And as much as I would LOVE to be able to start running again, I’ve decided to rest up this weekend and then give running a go first thing on Monday after we set the clocks back. I know I’ll be up early (I’ve already been getting up earlier because I’m subconsciously preparing for the time change. I have a new outlook on life.
Well, another hump day has come and gone. I wasn’t even sure if I would get a chance to post today, because A) I’ve been playing catch up at work this week and have been working ridiculously long hours, despite returning from a trade show where I worked 12+ hours a day all last week and throughout the weekend, and B) have I mentioned I’m tired? Oh yeah, and C) I had an impromptu haircut today that my mom made for me and forgot to tell me about (even though I’m 30 and very capable of scheduling my own appointments)! Continue reading
Hello all! I’ve been gone for a while…this has probably been the longest time that I’ve gone without posting. Did ya miss me?
I’ve been gone on a business trip to Harrisburg, PA, for about a week. Although I worked long hours (12-13 hour days), I was lucky enough to be able to bring JP with me and spend some quality time with him. Continue reading
Hello all! Just a quick knee update for you – my has knee has been feeling a LOT better. Not perfect, but much, much better. I’m going to take this week off from running, and then will be hoping to be be able to start running next week in time for my Celtic 5-k on March 9. Hopefully, everything goes as planned! Hope you’re all having an enjoyable and relaxing weekend! I’ll be heading down to Rhode Island today and may be MIA for the rest of the day (as in I might not get to reading your comments until later on today), but I wanted to leave you all with a fun post to read.
Ursula over at Northern Ambitions nominated me for my second Liebster Award (third award overall), and I’m really excited to answer her questions finally. After receiving a couple awards I had to get out of my comfort zone and find some new blogs to read because I don’t want to keep nominating the same people over and over. It was a challenge, but after a week’s worth of scouting blogs, I found what I thought were the latest and greatest new blogs to nominate.
