Yesterday’s Workout: 3.07 miles @ 30:00 (treadmill run)
It’s been a while since I last posted, and I apologize! It started with me deciding to take a break from blogging over the weekend and actually relaxing, and ended with a craptastic beginning to my work week (I’ve been putting in 12-hour work days!). All I have to say is: Thank God for running to keep me sane! I really wanted to do a weekend wrap-up post but now it is Wednesday, so I thought I’d incorporate a few things from my weekend into this week’s Wicked Random Wednesday.
• On Sunday, I decided to take my long run to the trails. Remember how I said that you’re likely to trip and fall on the trails and could possibly get injured that way? Well, I fell, and took away this lovely scrape. I know have a huge bruise on my shin, too.
• I’ve finally started weight training and push-ups (ugh!) as part of my cross-training regimen. I am lucky that JP offered to help me, but he gets annoyed when I start grunting during my push-ups. The other day he told me if I was a member of Planet Fitness, I would get kicked out. I laughed at that comment so much!
• While grocery shopping this past weekend, we learned that the store we went to carries pretzel roll! So naturally, we HAD to buy some! We decided to make homemade guacamole hamburgers and use the rolls as the buns. Mmm!
The burgers were gone before I thought to take a pic, but there was plenty of guac left!
• Although my Monday wasn’t too swell, I was really excited when Kristen @ Faith and Margaritas emailed me to tell me I was the winner of her Injinji sock contest! I’ve entered so many online contests and this is the first that I’ve ever won! I was so excited!

Congrats on winning the socks. That guac looks tasty. I’m not a huge fan of pretzel rolls but I don’t eat a lot of bread anyway.
Ouch that looks painful! I tripped and fell for the first time last week but I didn’t get near as scratched up as you. I’m just mostly bruised!
Push ups are the devil but I do them all the time because they really do work. I’m so sorry about your leg! That looks crazy painful! I actually almost fell on my run this morning because I hit some uneven pavement. No fun!
Ouch! That looks sore – but a badass trail badge? I really want to try pretzel rolls – I think I saw them in Costco last time I was there. I’m hitting the trails tomorrow and have a half marathon on Saturday so I’m 90% likely to fall!
Ooh that scrape looks painful! However, it officially brands you as a badass trail runner. I love guacamole, it’s soooo good. I wish I had an avocado tree in my backyard. Or do they grow on bushes??? I was laughing at the Planet Fitness comment. I go to PF and instead of grunting, if I have to make a noise, I go: “Oooooh!” really quiet and high pitched hehe. I often do it during my last pull up.
Ouch, so sorry you scraped up yourself on your trail fall. I have tripped a few times on our trail but have been lucky enough to not go down. My mom however went down the other day, but we she got right back up and we laughed it off!
