My Last Workout: Sunday, “long run day” 4.01 miles @ 40:02
Since my last post ended on a very bad note, I wanted this one to start off on a very good one! Sunday was my “long run” day, as in 4 miles long. I am literally starting from scratch with my marathon training, but I’d rather err on the side of caution, and (hopefully) avoid injury. Everyone who commented on my Vegas post is just going to have to wait until November to find out what decision I’ve made.
I’m not even going to breathe a word about which marathon I’ve decided to make my first until it’s over with, because as you know, I’m superstitious and don’t want to jinx myself.
But in the meantime, I’ve been on a major runner’s shopping spree, starting with a bargain I found while at Marshall’s on Friday.
I was actually shopping for sandals to wear to my sister’s bridal shower, but of course, had to peruse through the activewear section…and then found this:
Ok, there was no Basset hound in the middle of Marshall’s (I actually got that quilt there, too, though!). That’s my pretty little Bella modeling my new RBX vented running shirt. I’m not quite sure what the real name of the shirt is, but I love it. Even if I was wearing it on the day of my really bad run (if I wasn’t wearing it I would have probably really felt sick!).
I was immediately attracted to the pretty pink color, but the thing that was even more attractive to me was the price: $7.99. Woot, woot! Another score for Lis! Now, if only I can find a matching running skirt out there for under $10, I’d be rocking a real bargain outfit for my first marathon!
Another thing I really loved about this shirt was the vented back.
See that vented back? Is it enough of a close-up for you?
This shirt fit me just right (I didn’t even try it on in the store!), was moisture wicking…and would have probably helped me keep my cool if I didn’t feel so God awful on the day I happened to be wearing it. I’ll be sporting it again on my run today, cuz it’s my new favorite running shirt.
But beware, RBX…I have another new shirt on its way from Swirlgear, because I’m their newest brand ambassador! Stay tuned for more information on this awesome company in an upcoming post!
Can you just do all of my athletic clothes shopping for me?! What a steal. I’m always looking for the vented back because I’m super weird and particular about my running shirts. And congrats on Swirlgear! 🙂
I would LOVE to be your personal shopper! Just let me know what size you are and I’ll get started! 🙂
Sounds like a bargain! I’m a sucker for bright colors too!
Congrats on becoming an ambassador for Swirlgear! 🙂
PLUS, they keep you safe while running on the road!
Congratulations on your new ambassadorship and that awesome deal!!
Thank you!
I love, love, love, love, love that you put your shirt on your pup. He seemed so content, too! Christmas would never go for that. And then my shirt would have long white hairs ALL over it!
Oh trust me, it took quite a few shots before I got the perfect one! Since Bogie modeled for me the last time I had a Basset model I had to let Bella model this time. 🙂
Congrats on Swirlgear! And what do you mean, there wasn’t a Basset in the middle of Marshalls???
Congrats on a brand ambassadorship! You should be able to take your pup to the store to model for you I think 😉
I love that you’re a bargain shopper! A girl after my own heart. And Bella is a wonderful model 🙂
Awesome find!! I LOVE Marshalls for workout clothes. AND TJ Maxx! I RARELY pay over $15 for ANY workout clothes b/w the 2 stores. Just bought some new Puma socks today at TJX! I needed something that wouldn’t fall down in my heel and keep giving me those dang blisters!!
You should totally try MySoxyFeet! I liked them on Twitter and they sent me a coupon code SOXYFRIENDS so you can use it for 10% off any purchase! Their socks are super comfy and cute! http://www.mysoxyfeet.com
Ohhhh sounds good!! Thanks! I’m doing that!
