Weekend Wrap-Up and Basset Bed-making Photo Montage

Saturday’s Workout: Ran 3.13 miles @ 30:55

So if you haven’t heard via Facebook, Twitter, or any other form of social media already, I ran on Saturday!

I was so excited, that I ran much harder than I expected: the first lap was @ 9:41 (oops!), leaving me quite exhausted. Just as I was retuning back to my house on the first loop, it started pouring outside, and because I had my phone strapped to my arm, I decided to take it inside onto the treadmill.

Once I hopped on the treadmill, I was happy to be able to set the pace at a 10:30 minute mile. Remember, this was my first time running in two weeks, and I wasn’t looking to win any races or have a pr workout time.

Evidence of my second lap run @ 10:35.

I don’t know how you other bloggers do it, I had such a hard time taking a pic of the tm while running!

The treadmill read 20:58 just as I was finishing up my third mile overall (second on the tm).

It will be a while before I start trying to really build my mileage again. For the first month that I’m running I’ll be focusing more on building up my base again and actually doing some weight training. I really don’t want to go back to being on the injured list again! BUT…I do have a marathon in mind that I want to run in the fall. However, I’ll be keeping that to myself for now. I don’t want to jinx it! In the meantime, here are some pics of my adoradogs trying to interrupt me while making the bed today:

Bella actually jumped up there by herself today! That was a first! Next up is agility training for her!

Once I managed to get the fitted sheet on…

Bottom’s up!

I gave up after getting this far. Who can resist a cute, cuddly Basset hound?

Bogie claims the bottom of the bed where he knows he’s safe from Bella.

The Queen reigns, even in slumber!

Basset cuddles were the best part of my Mother’s Day. That, and of course, spending quality time with my own mom!

Your turn: What did you do this weekend?

First of all, congrats on running again! I know that feeling of running after a long time off… yay!! I don’t take pics of the treadmill. The only time I run on one is at the gym and I would be embarrassed to do it as I would prob fall off!!! This weekend the kitties got a photo session as well and I got some good shots!

Oh yay for running again!!! Your dogs are super cute. πŸ™‚ I love the tail sticking out of the blanket! I can’t take photos while running on the TM either. I always wait until I’m done so that it’s clear…lol.

Yay for running again! I know the injured feeling, I’m just getting back into regular running myself after a bad two months off for an ankle injury. Luckily I didn’t lose much fitness because I haven’t gotten that far in my running career yet. As far as treadmill pics, I pause the entire workout when I’m done and take a picture that way. It still has the mileage and time showing and it’s easier and safer than trying to do it while running. I run inside a lot in the summer- Florida is horrible humidity!

Congrats on being able to run again! I don’t think your times sound slow at all…I’m preparing for some solid 12- or 13-minute miles when I get back into running. And your dogs are SO CUTE!! One of my favorite things about being home is getting to see my dog every day. πŸ™‚
